Eagle-eyed Abersoch locals and regular visitors will have seen the transformation of the premises alongside the award-winning Coconut Kitchen into a new pizzeria.

As some of you may have noticed Abersoch is undergoing some major changes – the Post Office is now located inside Londis and the new occupier of the old Post Office may still be a secret but is understood to be en route. Combined with the demolition of some iconic landmarks such as The White house and the Carisbrooke Hotel the village is moving fast.

The subject of my article is one of the new entrants to the village menu – Crust Pizzeria – located on the harbour front sandwiched between Land & Sea and the well established Coconut Kitchen and a very different offer to its former life as a fish and chip shop.

Ben and Vicky Doodson are no strangers to Abersoch. The couple have lived here for over twenty years having previously owned The Tudor Court Hotel, explaining why they are known to some as Ben Tudor Court. Ben and his wife Vicky have two daughters – Lilly who is eleven and attends Ysgol Botwnnog, and seven year old Daisy ‘The Duke’ Doodson, who attends Ysgol Sarn Bach. For the past fifteen years the couple have run and owned The Goat Hotel in Beddgelert, Vicky still manages and does the hectic day to day running of the busy hotel, restaurant and function rooms. Ben has taken a back seat in that operation to solely concentrate on the couples latest venture and passion for Pizza at the Crust.
